Janiece's statement

Yeah, Ted told me to come take a look at this. I would say he has hit on all the major points except that besides working my weekends off I actually volunteered -- VOLUNTEERED--to work night shift if necessary. Now if you don't think my manager will take advantage of that. I've just about had it. Maybe we just had it too easy with Julia and Rauan or we are remembering everything with rose-colored glasses, but this whole thing stinks. And it's not a good stink. I will literally be working every single day until Alihan is home. That, of course, is if we are able to bring him home because if the need for more money comes up--we simply don't have it and I will not jeopardize my home or my family. There comes a point when a person has to say enough is enough.

This turns my stomach. How on Earth is $2,000 and ONE week going to change or verify anything?! Everyone knows nothing moves that quickly in the government!
I think it's time for the Frank Foundation and all their power and influence (as well as there large accounts funded by adoptive parents) to step in and do the right thing.

I got the same email yesterday from our agency -- same amount. There is a post on my blog about it as well. Today, however, God provided a large chunk of ours through a loan for the amount of our adoption tax credit and a VERY generous donation from my MIL. We are still some short (oh, about the amount of the legalization, I'd say!) and I'm still frustrated to be paying $2K for someone putting a stamp on a document that tells the courts that my Secretary of State authentication is "real". But, what do you do??? That's where we are. We've just invested too much -- time, energy, love, hope, money, basically all of us -- to stop now. Sadly, I think they know this. I also think the recent influx of numbers of people adopting from Kyrg has a lot to do with it. I'm praying for you!
