And now.....
time for the social worker's home visit. So, the house is a mess, we're getting ready to take off for a long weekend, and the weather is really too nice to stay inside and clean! We had the pumpkin patch yesterday, the Halloween dance, Julia's first "sleepover" guest--with Levi, Julia's sidekick, today we have the big soccer game, a babysitter coming at 5 so I can take Ted out for his birthday and then on the late news on Channel 15 a story about the soccer team that Ted coaches. HA! Think anything is going to get cleaned---Hell no! Ted said--this is it, it's our reality. The kids are healthy and happy, the city hasn't condemed the house---oh well! With Julia, the house was freshly painted, cabinets scrubbed--pretty close to perfect. With Rauan, still pretty clean but there were toys around. Now, the truth comes out! Take us or leave us--this is the Pritchard house reality!

I think you'll be fine JP. It's life, you know? Your social worker's seen your house before, right?
I scrubbed out my kitchen drawers, scrubbed out trash cans and cleaned closets like a crazy woman for our homestudy...the social worker barely glanced at the house! I wanted to beg her to check the nooks and cranies. I won't make that mistake again :) Best of luck, I'm sure it will all go great.
Oh yes, she did the post placements for Rauan and she knows me through my cleft work. It's just been a weekend and a half and the house looks it. Oh well! Kids are clean, healthy and happy--that's all that matters!
