Devil's Lake

Yesterday we took the kids to Devil's Lake up at Baraboo--tried our best to wear them out. Since the boys fell asleep on the way home, I guess we were sucessful!

First Communion

Yes, yesterday was the day. My princess received first communion. Here's a few select pictures of the day. On the left is a photo of Julia with her godmother Kelly and Kelly's husband Karl. I tried to find a selection of others to give some ideas of the day--Julia with Levi, Julia with a bunch of her friends from school--and of course, Julia with her brothers!

It was a wonderful day. Everyone was able to make it--including Uncle Josh (didn't have to work--he's a PA for one of the emergency rooms) along with Aunt Tisha and the cousins, Uncle Jeremy, Aunt Suzanne and family (Chicago), Michelle, Colton and Levi. Mamaw and Grandpa weren't there physically--but we know they were looking down from heaven and smiling.
The weather, despite a bit of wind, was absolutely lovely--especially for Wisconsin in spring. My first one--bittersweet. I'm glad I kept busy with the camera--otherwise there would have been tears!

Spring in Madison

We've had a busy week. On Wednesday, I took Rauan for testing for gifted and talented. While he was testing, I wandered downtown Madison.
This is the Kohls' Center--where we attend hockey games! Go Badgers!!

Over on the side are pictures of Chewie at a birthday party he attended Saturday (today) at the zoo. He's so cute!

Saturday at the 70s skating show

Just a few photos from Julia's ice skating show on Saturday. I got super lucky and was called off of work--sad because I lose $, but happy to be able to attend both performances. My mom came to the first performance and then took use out for lunch--yummy pasta. We were deeply disappointed that Ted's dad didn't come, despite the fact that he told Ted twice that he would be there--but so goes it.
While it was totally exciting to watch my daughter blossom in front of my eyes--it was equally thrilling to be in the stands with Alihan dancing to the music and Rauan standing behind me with his arms around me while he watched his sister. My husband and mom next to me--what more could I ask for? We have been blessed beyond our wildest expectations.
Julia did 2 shows--4 performances in each show. Yes she slept like an angel!
Next week first communion, then Julia's birthday and then her figure skating test performance! Wow-we all need a break! I'm cutting Julia to ice skating once a week right after her testing. After all she's not quite 8 and she needs to play. Heck, I need time to play. Rauan does his gifted and talented testing this next week. One way or the other we'll have answers. I haven't heard anything from the social worker about adjusting Alihan's age. I'll make another phone call this week.
Time for me to shower so I can go to work. No complaints from me--having last night off made me a very happy momma!
